Beta Blockers

The Beta Blockers story goes back thirty years to Dave and Trav at seven years old, huddled around a small tape player listening to The Beatles and Queen. Ingraining into their impressionable minds and DNA the love of a catchy hook, a solid arrangement and a touching melody. It’s these qualities that Dave and Trav strive for with Beta Blockers. They both write songs, play guitar and sing. It’s folk music. It’s pop music. It’s god damn Rock n Roll. It’s verses and choruses. It’s the music you already know that you don’t even know that you know. Beta Blockers ain’t reinventing the wheel. They are just giving it a good spin.

Jack Biilmann

Jack Biilmann grew up in Pambula Beach on the south coast of New South Wales and quickly discovered he had an ear for music. His natural ability shone as while he finished school and culminated in 2011 in forming ska punk band The Second Hand Salmon.

After much deliberation Biilmann decided to pursue opportunities as a solo artist, in February 2015 Myself To Blame was released. The record is the product of the hard work and tenacity of one of Australia’s fastest rising young guitarists, a blend of blues, roots and grounded folk, Myself To Blame shines a light on Biilmann’s versatility as a songwriter and his prowess as a guitarist.

The last year has seen Biilmann play over a hundred live shows while sharing the stage with some of the country’s biggest artists including Ian Moss, Sarah Mcleod (The Superjesus), Mat Mchugh(The Beautiful Girls), Jay Whalley ( Frenzal Rhomb), Bootleg Rascal, and Kim Churchill, as well as performing as part of the ACT’s showcase at BIGSOUND, Australia’s national music industry conference.

“In a world of band wagon musos, Jack is forging his own path in his own way by making his own sound.” – Lloyd Spiegel.

“Biilmann is already on the map as one of the countries elite guitarists.”- Rhythms Magazine.
