Vikings Group proudly supports over 50 sports and 8,000 athletes in the Tuggeranong Valley. Every month we celebrate our Vikings Champion, who is nominated by their team or organisation.

 

December 2023 Vikings Champion

Congratulations Tuggeranong Tornadoes Little Athletics.

Abigail Drew, Emma Grocott, Harper Dickson, Isabel Butler, and Lilja Helgstedt are gearing up for the Australian Track and Field Championships in Tasmania. They will be showcasing their skills in running, walking, shot put, discus, long jump, and high jump, proudly representing Tuggeranong and the ACT.

September 2023 Vikings Champion

Congratulations Maree Wilson

Maree has played a vital role in Canberra Physical Culture Club over the last 20 years. 

This has been evident through the club’s acheivements, with Maree coaching several athletes to take on nationals. 

Her dedication and support to the club is reflected in the inclusive and supportive environment that the Canberra Physical Culture Club has to offer. Thank you Maree for all your hard work! 

August 2023 Vikings Champion

Congratulations Vikings Deaf Lawn Bowls Club

Formed in early 2021, Paul Hulands, Miles Kemp, Gregory Ratford and Anthony Reid, intially had limited experience when it came to lawn bowls. However, with their determination and talent they’ve gone on to become a force to be reckoned with, in the sporting community. 

After just 18 months as a team, they won the Andrew Frew Shield in the Fours Championship, and have been selected for the 2024 Australian Deaf Lawn Bowling Championships! Best of luck to the team!!

July 2023 Vikings Champion

Congratulations Tabua “Boo” Tuinakauvadra

Boo is a proud member of the Vikings Rugby Union team, playing an integral role with the ViQueens, current defending Champions in the Premier 15’s.

As a current Brumbies Super W team member, this year she made her debut with the Australian Wallaroos. The Vikings Under 16 girls’ team is fortunate to have a player of Boo’s calibre as a Coach for this season.

Boo was nominated by Vikings Rugby, and we congratulate her on becoming July’s Vikings Champion. Best of luck Boo. Wallawho? WallaBoo!!

June 2023 Vikings Champion

Congratulations Tuggeranong Vikings BMX Championship Squad 

Mia Stichbury, 12-year-old three-time - Australian BMX Champion, and Ryan Williams, 8-year-old upcoming State Champion are taking the BMX world by storm. 

These Tuggeranong Vikings BMX athletes are off to Scotland in August 2023 to represent Australia in the BMX Racing World Championship - so remember their names.

May 2023 Vikings Champion

Congratulations Jim Veal

 Jim, a member of the Vikings Cycling Club, is an Australian Gold Medal Cyclist who’s spent over two decades volunteering as a coach to young riders across the ACT. 

His skill and passion for cycling has seen many of his athletes transition from a shaky first start on the track, to competing in velodromes across Australia.

Congratulations Vikings Surf Boats

The Vikings Open Mens Surfboat Crew won all seven legs of the George Bass Surfboat Race, where they raced 190kms over 7 days from Batemans Bay to Eden. 

With a relationship spanning 35 years, the Vikings Group is proud to see the accomplishments the Vikings Surf Boats are achieving.
