Investing in our Community
The Vikings Community Assistance Program provides financial and in-kind support to eligible individuals, affiliated clubs, schools, charities, community organisations and groups that deliver positive outcomes within the Tuggeranong community.
If your request aligns with one or more of our community assistance outcomes below, we’d love to hear from you, whether you’re seeking a cash donation, vouchers, room hire, or another form of support.
Through this assistance, Vikings aims to strengthen the bonds that tie our community together by inspiring connection, belonging, and shared pride across Tuggeranong. We are committed to creating opportunities that enhance community life and foster a culture of wellbeing and inclusion. Our vision is to see Tuggeranong thrive as a connected, active, and vibrant community.
Community Assistance Program Guidelines
The program aims to:
Strengthen community connection and participation
Reduce financial barriers
Support sport, recreation and wellbeing initiatives
Create opportunities that contribute to a connected, active and inclusive community.
To be eligible for support, applications must:
Demonstrate a direct connection to the Tuggeranong community
Demonstrate a clear community benefit
Align with one or more Community Assistance Program outcomes
Provide sufficient information to support the assessment of the request
Support may include:
Cash donations;
Vouchers or gift cards;
Room hire support;
Equipment or infrastructure support;
Event or program assistance; and
Other approved in-kind support.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible to receive Community Assistance, Applicants must be one of the following:
Vikings affiliated sporting club;
School;
Charity;
Recognised community organisation or group; or
Eligible individuals who must:
Reside within the Tuggeranong Valley; and
Hold a current Vikings membership for a minimum of 12 months (or have a parent/guardian who holds a current membership for applicants under 18 years); and
Demonstrate a connection to the local community through an affiliated club or recognised community group.
PREFERENCE
Preference may be given to requests that:
Improve participation, inclusion or accessibility;
Strengthen community connection and inclusion;
Support grassroots sport and recreation;
Reduce financial barriers; or
Align strongly with Vikings’ community objectives.
SELECTION PROCESS
All applications will be assessed against:
the program eligibility criteria (detailed above);
alignment with the Community Assistance Program outcomes (for example, whether they support the delivery of community, sporting, educational or wellbeing initiatives);
demonstrated community benefit and impact (for the Tuggeranong community in particular);
financial need or accessibility barriers where applicable;
(for infrastructure and asset requests):
The number of participants who will benefit.
Impact on participation opportunities.
Impact on club sustainability and operations.
Long-term community benefit.
Asset ownership and maintenance responsibilities.
Availability of alternative funding sources, including government grants.
The applicant's capacity to contribute financially to the project; and
available program funding.
Incomplete applications may not be considered.
Vikings may approve requests:
in full;
in part; or
through an alternative form of support.
All funding decisions are made by the Vikings' Community Committee and are final. Submission of an application does not guarantee approval of funding or support from Vikings.

Please note that a decision may be made on the content provided in the application form submitted. You are encouraged to provide as much relevant information as possible.
