Vikings is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, hands-on role where you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our venue, ensuring that everything runs smoothly, and upholding our commitment to excellence in customer service and operational standards.

As a Duty Manager, you will lead a team of customer service supervisors, ensure exceptional service, manage operational tasks, and maintain a safe and compliant working environment. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach, with a focus on delivering quality results while fostering a positive workplace culture.

What you’ll do

  • Customer service leadership: Lead a team of customer service supervisors in delivering exceptional service and engaging with both staff, members and guests to ensure high customer satisfaction levels.

  • Operational management: Oversee the daily operations of the venue, working closely with the Venue and Operations Managers to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Compliance and reporting: Assist with stock control, gaming reconciliations, and operational reporting in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Workplace health and safety: Champion WHS practices across the venue, ensuring a safe environment for staff and patrons, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety standards.

  • Team development: Support the development of the Customer Service team through mentorship, training, and performance management, ensuring a high level of employee engagement.

What you’ll bring

  • Leadership experience: Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in hospitality management or a relevant leadership position.

  • Strong communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire teams and interact effectively with customers.

  • Organisational expertise: Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends, to meet the demands of the business.

  • Problem-solving skills: A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to addressing challenges, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
