Kids into Sport

Helping kids play, grow and connect

Established in 2022, the Vikings Kids into Sport program helps remove financial barriers so that every child in the Tuggeranong Valley has the opportunity to participate in sport.

At Vikings, we believe sport plays a vital role in fostering a sense of belonging, building confidence, and creating meaningful social connections for children and young people. Through this program, we are committed to ensuring that cost is not a barrier to participation, giving every child the chance to step onto the field, court, or stage.

Working in partnership with more than 40 local schools, Vikings-affiliated sporting clubs, and community organisations, Kids into Sport provides financial assistance to support children in becoming active, making friends, and growing through sport.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

  3. Applications are assessed against the program’s eligibility criteria and can be received year-round.

“The Kids into Sport program is a fantastic initiative giving sporting opportunities to all kids in the Tuggeranong Valley. The program gives kids access to their local sporting clubs and has broken down all barriers that might have stopped kids from engaging in organised after-school sport in the past. Outstanding program!”
