Town Centre Vikings is becoming Greenway Vikings
Same Vikings. New Chapter.
For more than 30 years, Town Centre Vikings has been part of the Tuggeranong community. It has been a place where people come together to share meals, catch up with friends, celebrate birthdays and milestones, support local sport and create memories. Through all those years, the venue has continued to evolve alongside the community it serves.
Today, we’re preparing for the next chapter in that story. As part of the most significant redevelopment in the venue’s history, Town Centre Vikings is becoming Greenway Vikings.
A new name for a renewed venue
The redevelopment underway at Town Centre Vikings represents a major investment in the future of the venue and the experience we provide our members.
It will deliver contemporary hospitality, entertainment and social spaces, enhanced dining experiences, improved accessibility and modern facilities designed for today’s members while creating a welcoming destination for generations to come.
As the venue evolves physically, it created an opportunity to consider whether the name should evolve with it.
Greenway is the official suburb in which the venue is located, creating a clearer and more authentic connection to place. The redevelopment marks the evolution of Town Centre Vikings, not the creation of a different club. Everything that matters remains the same. The most important part of Greenway Vikings is still Vikings.
Members will continue to enjoy the same Vikings membership and Rewards Program, the same familiar faces, the same commitment to service and the same dedication to supporting our community.
Building on more than 30 years of history
We know Town Centre Vikings is much more than a name. For many members, it represents decades of friendships, celebrations and shared experiences. That connection has been an important consideration throughout the process.
Greenway Vikings doesn’t replace that history. The intention is to create a venue that feels fresh and contemporary while remaining somewhere our existing members feel at home, and somewhere future generations can create memories of their own.
The redevelopment created a natural opportunity for the future identity of the venue to evolve.
The Greenway Vikings name strengthens the venue’s connection to its location, aligns with the redevelopment and future direction, and supports long-term growth while retaining the trusted Vikings identity our members know and value.
Consultation with Directors, staff and members also helped shape the approach. Feedback reinforced that the redevelopment is the perfect opportunity to assess the venue’s identity, while also making it clear that our members felt strongly that the Vikings service and experience should continue even if the name changes. It’s a commitment we can easily make to our members, staff, and community in which we serve.
Proudly Greenway. Proudly Tuggeranong
Although Greenway will become part of our name, our community extends far beyond the suburb. Greenway identifies where the venue is located. Tuggeranong remains the community we proudly serve.
Greenway Vikings will continue to be a place for people from across the Valley and beyond to meet, eat, celebrate, connect and belong.
What happens next?
The change will be introduced gradually alongside the Town Centre redevelopment. Members will begin to see Greenway Vikings appearing across communications and signage and digital channels as we move towards the official launch of Stage 1 in November 2026.
We’ll continue sharing redevelopment progress and more about Greenway Vikings in the months ahead.
The venue is changing. The name is changing. But what sits at the heart of it isn’t. It’s a new chapter for the same Vikings.
Catch you there.
