Matt Dent is a local Canberran musician who has done the hard yards in the industry. Matt’s performances generate a unique style of acoustic folk, woven through with good old Aussie pub rock. His Debut LP "Welcome to The Sky" features a new, yet hauntingly traditional sound, dubbed "Blokey folk rock" by the Riot Act's originator (John Griffiths). Matt’s LP features Aussie drumming legend John Watson (Kasey Chambers, Aussie Crawl and Dragon) and on Bass Johnathan Zion (Lior, Pete Murray and Ian Moss).

Drawing inspiration from such greats as Paul Kelly, Crowded House, Bob Dylan, Credence, and Neil Young Matt Dent unites Aussie pub rock with his traditional Scottish and Irish roots to create a new yet familiar genre for the Aussie connoisseur.

Catch the Vikings Members Courtesy Bus to the Australian War Memorial Dawn Service this Anzac Day. 

The free bus will depart from Town Centre Vikings at 4:15am and will return to the Club after the service.

Two-Up

The Vikings Clubs have built up a reputation for being one of the best spots in Canberra to play Two-Up on Anzac Day.

Two-Up this year will again be held at our Chisholm and Lanyon Clubs. 

Players must be 18 years of age to play. All profits from Two-Up will be donated to Vikings Fishing Club and Vikings Rugby.

Introducing local musician Bill Olson. Bill is a full time solo performer with a broad musical background. Bill started his musical journey as the lead singer and writer in an all-original 5 piece local band, achieving some notable success supporting great Aussie bands such as the Divinyls, transvision vamp, screaming jets and also international acts such as Suzi Quattro.

Armed with his acoustic guitar and 9 years experience playing Canberra’s clubs and pubs as a solo performer, Bill has covered a lot of ground from corporate events, to weddings,  and many private functions.  Bill is able to play your favourite songs with something for everyone. From Marvin Gaye through to Amy Winehouse Bill can cover it all in his own unique style. If you get a chance, Bill would love to see you at one of his gigs, so go along and say g’day.

Jack Biilmann grew up in Pambula Beach on the south coast of New South Wales and quickly discovered he had an ear for music. His natural ability shone as while he finished school and culminated in 2011 in forming ska punk band The Second Hand Salmon.

After much deliberation Biilmann decided to pursue opportunities as a solo artist, in February 2015 Myself To Blame was released. The record is the product of the hard work and tenacity of one of Australia’s fastest rising young guitarists, a blend of blues, roots and grounded folk, Myself To Blame shines a light on Biilmann’s versatility as a songwriter and his prowess as a guitarist.

The last year has seen Biilmann play over a hundred live shows while sharing the stage with some of the country’s biggest artists including Ian Moss, Sarah Mcleod (The Superjesus), Mat Mchugh(The Beautiful Girls), Jay Whalley ( Frenzal Rhomb), Bootleg Rascal, and Kim Churchill, as well as performing as part of the ACT’s showcase at BIGSOUND, Australia’s national music industry conference.

We’re changing the way Centenary Members access their Centenary Membership vouchers. 

Technology is developing and so are we. This year instead of getting your vouchers sent to you, each month from the first of the month when you swipe your card at the front entrance terminal your monthly voucher will be provided to you.

As with previous years there are monthly vouchers from February to December as well as a voucher you can use all year round. 

Be sure to head in to your local Vikings venue this February to swipe your card at the Front Entrance Terminal to redeem your first voucher!

Matt Dent is a local Canberran musician who has done the hard yards in the industry. Matt’s performances generate a unique style of acoustic folk, woven through with good old Aussie pub rock. His Debut LP "Welcome to The Sky" features a new, yet hauntingly traditional sound, dubbed "Blokey folk rock" by the Riot Act's originator (John Griffiths). Matt’s LP features Aussie drumming legend John Watson (Kasey Chambers, Aussie Crawl and Dragon) and on Bass Johnathan Zion (Lior, Pete Murray and Ian Moss).

Hit & Run have been a mainstay on the Canberra Music Scene for over 14 years.

Since forming "for 12 months" back in 2002, the Duo have performed at nearly every venue in town, including performances at Parliament house, numerous corporate functions, weddings, birthdays and other events.  With a wide range of songs covered, the boys can belt out everything from Elvis and Dion, to Kenny and Dolly, ABBA and the Jackson 5, or if Pub Rock is your thing, then they can do that with the best of them. A night with Hit & Run is a night of good times, singalongs and a few surprises on the way.

Introducing local musician Bill Olson. Bill is a full time solo performer with a broad musical background. Bill started his musical journey as the lead singer and writer in an all-original 5 piece local band, achieving some notable success supporting great Aussie bands such as the Divinyls, transvision vamp, screaming jets and also international acts such as Suzi Quattro.

Armed with his acoustic guitar and 9 years experience playing Canberra’s clubs and pubs as a solo performer, Bill has covered a lot of ground from corporate events, to weddings,  and many private functions.  Bill is able to play your favourite songs with something for everyone. From Marvin Gaye through to Amy Winehouse Bill can cover it all in his own unique style. If you get a chance, Bill would love to see you at one of his gigs, so go along and say g’day.

Jack Biilmann grew up in Pambula Beach on the south coast of New South Wales and quickly discovered he had an ear for music. His natural ability shone as while he finished school and culminated in 2011 in forming ska punk band The Second Hand Salmon.

After much deliberation Biilmann decided to pursue opportunities as a solo artist, in February 2015 Myself To Blame was released. The record is the product of the hard work and tenacity of one of Australia’s fastest rising young guitarists, a blend of blues, roots and grounded folk, Myself To Blame shines a light on Biilmann’s versatility as a songwriter and his prowess as a guitarist.

The last year has seen Biilmann play over a hundred live shows while sharing the stage with some of the country’s biggest artists including Ian Moss, Sarah Mcleod (The Superjesus), Mat Mchugh(The Beautiful Girls), Jay Whalley ( Frenzal Rhomb), Bootleg Rascal, and Kim Churchill, as well as performing as part of the ACT’s showcase at BIGSOUND, Australia’s national music industry conference.
